Presenter: Dr. Chris Forsythe 

Description

There is no field of science more active today than brain science, with cognitive neuroscience research providing many insights into the brain mechanisms that underlie learning, performance and motivation in the workplace. This 90-minute presentation will emphasize principles that are rooted in understanding brain mechanisms, including factors that account for individual and team performance, as well as individual variability and decision making. Scientifically-rooted principles will be applied in the context of everyday activities and approaches will be discussed on how to maximize human effectiveness, productivity and happiness in the workplace.


Bio

Dr. Chris Forsythe is the founder and President of the Brain Hackers Association. This is a non-profit organization that provides STEM oriented programs for youth focused on brain science and neurotechnology. Formerly, Dr. Forsythe was a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff in the Human Factors organization at Sandia National Laboratories. Dr. Forsythe has over twenty-five years of experience applying brain science to develop technology solutions to improve human performance. Dr. Forsythe has served on government advisory panels for the Department of Energy, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Office of Naval Research, Defense Threat Reduction Agency and the National Research Council. Dr. Forsythe has taught courses and workshops concerning the practical, everyday application of brain science to a variety of adult professional and youth audiences. Dr. Forsythe has published extensively including authoring a book concerning the practical application of cognitive neuroscience and editing three books in the fields of human factors and intelligent systems. Dr. Forsythe has a PhD in Experimental Psychology and MS in Biopsychology from the University of Memphis.
