    Job description

    The Human Resources Director position offers a unique opportunity to be a strategic partner with Operations while overseeing multiple Human Resources departments possessing varying levels of HR expertise. The HRD is viewed as a strong leader who is results-oriented and able to make tough decisions, yet instill confidence within the organization. This position offers autonomy, flexibility in schedule, and a great professional challenge. The position will work cooperatively with program management to provide human resources support in the areas of recruiting, hiring and training, and employee relations, specifically:

    • Effectively hiring, training, supervising and managing the Human Resources staff in the department, ensuring an effective and efficiently performing department
    • Providing ongoing coaching and development of employees.
    • Assisting with strategic planning to ensure the company is well-positioned for growth and HR needs.
    • Ensuring Human Resources functions comply with regulatory standards and the organization's policies and are performed effectively and efficiently.
    • Overseeing the implementation of effective employee recruitment strategies in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Providing technical assistance regarding employee relations issues to program management as requested.
    • Overseeing the effective management of workers' compensation and unemployment claims.
    • Ensuring the development and application of a professional human resources orientation for all new staff.
    • Direct communication and dialogue with the corporate Human Resources department.
    • Overnight travel may be required.

    • Must have 8-10 years of broad-based, exempt-level Human Resources Generalist experience.
    • Experience in employee relations, recruiting, training and workers' compensation claims management.
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
    • PHR certification preferred.
    • Must have supervisory experience and excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
