Learn why an understanding of basic graphic design principles is important for instructional designers and training professionals in designing their training materials. These principles apply to the visual layout of training manuals, exercises, handouts, presentations, web-based trainings, and other training materials. Caroline Orcutt, MA, will present ideas for creating effective layouts for clear and attractive visual communications. Examples of the application of graphic design principles in training materials will be shared.

Caroline Orcutt, MA, has over 30 years experience in graphic design and digital arts. She ran her own business for many years and specializes in teaching graphic design. In addition, she has received several awards in graphic design from the New Mexico Advertising Federation. Caroline is the Digital Arts Program Supervisor for UNM Continuing Education and has a MA in Art from UNM, emphasis in Printmaking and Photography, minor in Art History.
