    Purpose of Position:

    The position will serve as principal evaluator for the Environmental Health Epidemiology Bureau (EHEB) and will work with the Asthma Control Program to implement and update the existing Strategic Evaluation Plan and Individual Evaluation Plans in consultation with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) evaluation technical advisor. Incumbent will work with the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program to implement and update the existing Evaluation Plan and evaluations of specific program activities and interventions, in consultation with the CDC program officer. Incumbent will work with the Private Wells Program to support evaluation and quality improvement activities required under the current CDC grant, in consultation with the CDC program officer and with the Occupational Health Surveillance Program to develop evaluation capacity. Position will provide evaluation expertise to the bureau, interface with appropriate CDC staff, assist with grant writing and reporting, and collaborate with evaluators in other bureaus within the Epidemiology and Response Division and the New Mexico Department of Health as appropriate.

    Minimum Qualification:

    Working Conditions:

    Position Summary: In collaboration with the Director of Organizational Learning and Research, the Research and Evaluation Coordinator will help implement research, evaluation, and learning plans for the organization. Some national travel may be required.


    Future Focused facilitates learning across the Leadership Schools Network (LSN) in Albuquerque, a network of four high schools, and then based on that learning, propagates an innovative model of education to reach more students locally and nationally. The Coordinator will support the transfer of learning from the LSN to other organizational initiatives. In addition, this position will support a variety of research, internal evaluation, and continuous improvement activities essential to the organization’s growth and credibility.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: It is the responsibility of the Research and Evaluation Coordinator to carry out the following tasks, among others, under the supervision of the Director of Organizational Learning and Research:

    • Locate and analyze publicly available data on population-level indicators relevant to the organization’s work and planning.

    • Summarize existing research on topics relevant to organization’s work and planning.

    • Coordinate and conduct data collection activities like observations, survey administration, and focus groups, including note-taking responsibilities.

    • Enter data and clean up datasets.

    • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data and create user-friendly summaries and data visualizations, using data analysis software (e.g. Excel, SPSS).

    • Prepare reports, briefs, and presentations that use data and research to communicate with internal and external audiences.

    • Facilitate “data dive” discussions with the LSN, Future Focused staff, and partners to support organizational learning and growth.

    • Stay current on important education and workforce issues, trends, and research locally and nationally.

    Qualifications:

    Education Bachelor’s degree required, preference for Master’s degree (completed or in progress) in education or a social science field. Current graduate students are encouraged to apply.

    Experience
    Preference for at least one year of experience assisting with quantitative and qualitative research or program evaluation in educational settings, including:

    • Writing non-academic literature reviews;

    • Note-taking during interviews or focus groups;

    • Producing descriptive analyses of qualitative and quantitative data sets; and

    • Facilitating group discussions about the possible implications of data and research for program planning.

    Competencies

    • Interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with others

    • Writing and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate the meaning of research and data analysis to a variety of audiences

    Education:
    Essential:
    * Bachelor Degree

     

     

    Other information:
    Required: Bachelors Degree in related field. Preferred: Masters Degree in instructional technology, adult education, instructional design, curriculum design or related field.

    Experience:
    Required: Three to five years experience creating learner-centered instructional content and performance-based instructional systems design processes. Experience with online course design and management tools. Experience with graphic and multimedia authoring software and website design software. Experience in supervisory and managerial positions preferred.
    Demonstrate an independent work initiative, sound judgment and attention to detail. Mastery of consultative, project management and change management skills and applicable learning technologies. Professional demeanor, customer service orientation and commitment to continuous learning

      

    Summary:
    Applies business and ISD processes to lead the development of department and/or system-wide learning programs and interventions in support of the organization s strategic goals and objectives

     

    Responsibilities:
    *Applies business and ISD processes to lead the development of department and/or system-wide learning programs and interventions in support of the organization s strategic goals and objectives. 
    *Identifies SME s and their requirements to facilitate design, development, and implementation of programs. Provides oversight for design, development, delivery and evaluation of programs by colleagues and vendors.
    *Develops and implements standards, templates, and processes to ensure efficient, effective, and engaging learning interventions. 
    *Creates engaging and performance driven educational programs/materials using a variety of delivery and instructional methods and modes. 
    * Identifies needs and helps expand departmental and organizational knowledge and skills related to interactive instructional strategies and technology (i.e., gaming, social media, etc.) 
    *Works with team members and stakeholders to align organizational programs, structures and systems to leverage organizational resources. 
    *Evaluates the effectiveness of learning programs through the monitoring of course performance against evaluation targets. Implements improvements as needed to meet targets.
    *Builds effective long term relationships with clients to support measurable and sustainable improvements in performance across diverse sectors of the organization.
    *Acts as a liaison between the department resources and the client to ensure that programs meet client needs and quality standards and reflect sound educational practice; Pro-actively identifies and addresses project issues.

    Job Posting:

    Part-time Trainer

    RLS & Associates, Inc.

     

    Job Duties: Provide training to New Mexico’s rural transit systems and special transportation providers. Conduct training across the state at various locations; develop and maintain training records, as required. The majority of trainings will occur on weekends. Workload is anticipated to be two weekends per month. Candidate must be willing to travel throughout the state of New Mexico to provide trainings.

     

    Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of experience in public transit or human service agency transportation or equivalent experience in the transportation industry. Persons interested should be self-motivated and willing to travel within New Mexico. Valid driver’s license required. Experience and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs desired.

     

    Work Performed:

     Perform training sessions and seminars on site. Coordinate all aspects of individually assigned training sessions. Provide follow-up as necessary.

     Administer training networks as established in New Mexico. Coordinate trainer meetings, monitor training schedules, and order new supplies as needed.

     Perform computer-related tasks and functions.

     Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

     

    Physical Requirements:

    1. Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, twist, push, and pull

    2. Normal hearing with the aid of corrective devices (i.e. hearing aid)

    3. Normal vision with the aid of corrective devices (i.e. glasses)

    4. Not prone to fainting spells, blackouts, dizziness, or seizures

    5. Ability to sit in a normal seated position for extended periods of time
