Mentoring relationships can influence individual career development. How does diversity and context play a role in mentoring relationships? Are there  advantages or disadvantages to diverse mentor-mentee relationships? When mentors and mentees acknowledge and leverage their diversity within the context of their mentoring relationships, they both benefit. This presentation will discuss the benefits. This presentation will also discuss: 

  • Context and diversity as it relates to mentoring relationships
  • Compare themes related to the role diversity and context play in mentoring relationships 
  • Analyze how to develop diverse mentoring relationships within an organization. 

About the presenter...

Kellie Tinnin, M.A.

Kellie's background includes work in learning and development including instructional design, organizational and human resource development. She has a passion for learning and that is directly impacted by the needs of her customers. Her greatest asset is creating programs that address customer needs in ways that are measurable to the individual employee, groups of individuals and organizations. 

She aims to be different and unique while making a measurable impact in an organization and striving to lead projects in a fresh and innovative manner.

She is a reformed “desert dweller” growing up in Arizona and relocating to New Mexico in 2005. She calls Albuquerque home where English Bulldogs, “Momo” and “Miyagi” call the shots at home. She is involved in the local community and supports animal welfare causes.
