    EVENT DETAILS

As much as we Talent Development professionals hate to admit it...often we just don't have time for our own professional development.

Well, now it's time to change that. It's time for some professional development for YOU!

And who better to learn from than our July event guest speaker, Kevin Preston, PhD, the Chief Learning Officer (CLO) of Presbyterian Healthcare Services.

ATD NM is privileged to welcome Kevin for this chapter event to learn about his career trajectory in the learning world and his path through various learning and development roles.

    Attendees can look forward to:

    • Learning more about what a CLO does
    • The competencies needed for a senior role
    • Kevin's successes and even the pitfalls - shared during the session to help you navigate your own career smoothly
This session will be a wonderful opportunity to reflect upon your own career journey, learn from others about their career, and build relationships with the New Mexico Talent Development community.

Pizza & salad will be provided, and you are welcome to bring your own dinner to enjoy during the evening.

We have 40 seats available for this event and anticipate that it will sell out quickly, so don't hesitate to register early.

About the Guest Speaker, Nicole Smith, ATD NM President

With over 13 years of experience in Talent Development, Nicole has worked in multiple industries such as banking, education, and nonprofit, but always in her little slice of professional paradise where she can champion employee learning & growth.

In her current role as the Learning & Development (L&D) Director at the National Wildlife Federation, she oversees the L&D function and leads talent development initiatives for the organization.

Nicole earned her Master’s of Education in Training & Development from Pennsylvania State University, is a Prosci Certified Practitioner, DiSC Certified Trainer, and ELI Certified Instructor of Civil Treatment.

Born into a Marine Corps family that moved constantly while she was growing up, Nicole is actually from “everywhere but nowhere in particular.” Moving to Hawaiʻi after grad school, she called the islands home for 13 years before moving to New Mexico in April of 2022.

Due to her experience, she is a big believer in supporting professionals on their career journey and has served on the ATD NM Board since 2023. Before that, she was a member of the ATD Hawai’i Board in 2016-2017.

When not working, you can find her trail running in the Sandia Mountains or hopping on a plane to Hawai’i to sneak in some SUP surfing!
