Date: Thursday, March 21st, 2019 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Location: Bohannan Huston 7500 Jefferson St. NE (NE corner of Jefferson and Masthead)
Description Technology and an interconnected world are influencing how work gets done and the skills employers will seek. Those who offer talent development need to be aware of these emerging trends and develop a plan for helping employees to become prepared for a rapidly changing (VUCA) world of work. In this interactive session the presenters will work with talent development attendees to gain a basic understanding of the big, emerging trends that are impacting employer expectations for success in the current workplace and in the future. This workshop comes predominantly from the on-going study of Workforce Development in New Mexico. However, it also relies on the theoretical base of Human Capital Theory from Economics and from Forecasting and Predictive Analytics. The workshop presenters will utilize some lecture to establish basic context. Active and collaborative learning approaches (e.g., think-pair-share, synthesis checks, turn and talks) will principally be used
